Winter Is Coming Series – September 2024 Recap

For me, the weather gradually getting cooler tells me that the Holidays are coming and as a Marketer, it’s preparing for one of the biggest shopping days of the year. After the Holidays come the slow period for many businesses and my goal with this series is to help as many small businesses as possible “prepare for winter”.

For the past 6 weeks, my social media posts have covered many topics as #WinterIsComing. A recap of each post is below:

Week 1 – Winter is coming. Will you be ready?
Getting into the mindset that your business should be prepared for winter.

Week 2 – Have you planned your Holiday promotions and KPIs?
An example of preparing for a Holiday promotion can be found here.

Week 3 – Do you have your social media calendar planned out through the end of the year?
As things begin to get hectic, having a schedule can really help the content and promotions for your business stay on track.

Week 4 – Are your website and social pages up to date?
It is a good idea to check your online presence and make sure that everything is up to date and that all the links on your website are working.

Week 5 – Will you be having an end of year customer appreciation card or gift?
Shipping and mail delivery can be delayed due to weather or due to an influx of items being mailed during the Holiday season. It also may take you time to design, print, and make a list of all your customers you will be giving a gift to.

Week 6 – Are your directory listings current and up to date?
This is a second reminder to check your online presence and make sure all your directory listing links are working and that the promotions are current and up to date.

If you haven’t started your Holiday promotional strategy, there is still time to create one. If you need assistance, Drummergirl Marketing is here to help.
