3 Marketing Questions to Think About This Holiday Season
Is your marketing ready for the Holidays? Ready or not, the Holiday sale season has kicked off. Even though the Holiday Season has kicked off, it’s not too late to change your tempo and find a marketing groove that works for you. If you need any last-minute help or are not sure where to start below are three questions (and answers) to help you find your seasonal groove.
1.) Do you plan to take time off/close at any point between now and January 1st? How do you prepare for time off during the Holidays?
- Update social channels about Holiday hours
- Make sure Google Business page reflects Holiday hours
- Make sure website reflects Holiday Hours (and possible delivery delays, if applicable)
- Make sure storefront has Holiday hours posted
- Make sure inform customers through email and/or include in Holiday email marketing messaging
2.) What is your marketing content plan for the remainder of the year? If you don’t have one or need some ideas, check out the sample plan below.
Sample Plan:
- November – Primary Focus: Holiday Push & Promotions
- Share November Store/Operation Hours
- Prepare for Black Friday (11/28), Small Business Saturday (11/29), Cyber Monday (11/30), and/or Giving Tuesday (12/1) if applicable
- December – Primary Focus: Home Stretch with Promos & Sales
- Ensure Holiday greeting messaging and remaining Holidays hours are scheduled on appropriate platforms
- Share last minute gift ideas for possible consumers
3.) How much time do you dedicate to your marketing? How much time CAN you dedicate to your marketing? (This includes overseeing someone doing your marketing for you)
How much time you dedicate to your marketing varies and depends on numerous factors such as staffing/personal bandwidth, inventory/available services, and budget. If you don’t have the time, find the money for help. If you cannot afford to hire help, then you need to find the time to do your own marketing. If you are a DIY Marketer, 1-2 hours a week really goes a long way.
